The singer looks absolutely devastated after
finding out that La La Land hadn't actually won
Best Picture at the Oscars .
The All Of Me hitmaker joined his fellow stars,
including Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, and
creatives behind the film on stage at the 89th
Academy Awards after the musical was
announced as the winner.
Hollywood legends Warren Beatty and Faye
Dunaway named La La Land, when it was
actually Moonlight which took the top prize
home.
It was a painfully awkward moment that will go
down in history as one of the biggest ever
Oscars gaffes - along with the time John
Travolta called Idina Menzel 'Adele Dazeem'
when introducing her on stage.
The 'winners' had begun making their emotional
acceptance speeches when it was announced
that there had been a mistake.
John, who played Keith in the film, can be seen
in the background when the news breaks,
looking pretty upset about it all.
John already has one Oscar in his collection,
after taking home the Best Original Song gong
for Glory - written with Common for the film
Selma - in 2014.
